we recently flew south to celebrate independence day with bron + alex. while we visit LA often, it was so fun to explore a new side of the city with these two. they gave us the royal treatment of course and we left feeling full, tan and relaxed. some highlights include {but are not limited to}

FUN: rambo, back yard pool parties, an unforgettable day on the arrivederci IV – complete with HATS AND SHIRTS!, 20 something bottles of angelina's rose, a backyard celebration full of live music, treats, dancing, and pina coladas followed by amazing fireworks. 
FOOD: the most delicious sushi ever at SUGARFISH, the most unique breakfast ever {see photo above} at sqirl, the most delicious shrimp ever from son of a gun, and the most delicious pasta, wine, everything ever at bestia. thank you B + A for such a perfect weekend.

i'm often mind blown that i still live in the apartment that callie and i found back in 2010. makes it all the more fun when she comes to visit me and we can relive our bay area life together! a few weeks back, i was lucky enough to get CR all to myself for the weekend. we ate and drank and hiked and shared a nasty cold which inspired us to also spend a lot of our time lounging – which ended up being quite nice, actually. some of my favorite moments include:

breakfast at the best, outerlands. a stop at basik before hitting the road to bolinas to hike alamere falls. drinks at hi-lo club {whiskey and lemon for the throat, please}, coqueta {gin and tonics all around}, and hardwater {oysters!}. dinner at liholiho. a day in the park at cavallo point. and most of all just loads of time getting in some much needed catch up. 


Staycation

HALF MOON BAY

this weekend we popped down to half moon bay for some surfing and exploring. our typical city-escape is north of the city, so it was nice to try something new for a change. we stopped at moss beach distillery for lunch – fish and chips by the fire pit – followed by some salmon jerky from creekside smokehouse, and cocktails at the ritz. why don't we do this more often? it was the perfect getaway, and only required 45 minutes in the car. there's something about that chilly sea breeze that i truly love so much.
