sunday morning was spent at farm:table {not our best experience here. and you all know its the fav.} and baker beach. we had a great time enjoying the fog, and later sun while playing more paddles and relaxing. afterwards we had tacos in the neighborhood and prepared for the world series.

                        
                                     
our venue of choice was za -- pizza + wine + baseball = the perfect way to watch the giants win the world series (yay!) -- after a round of free beers, we went down to polk street. this was quite the experience and rather nuts. hundreds of people in the streets celebrating. i've included a video here to help capture the moment. perfect end to the weekend!

how the heck did october fly by so quickly? -- friday night kicked halloween festivities into gear with the db party. after our fancy cocktails and snacks, we headed to dinner at brendas. we've been wanting to try this southern style spot for a while now. we ate our fried chicken in costume, and called it a night.

saturday we took advantage of the warm weather and walked to the marina for lunch at blue fog, and some paddles in the park. from there, it was time for the giants game, and a night out in costume. happy halloween!

i've been dreaming about this pizza for months, but made myself wait until it was actually fall to cook it {ugh. story of my life.} i will say -- it's not one of those just throw cheese and pepperonis on and your done, type of pizzas. this one required some serious labor. but in my opinion, well worth it! just make sure you give yourself a little time to chop, and cook, and caramelize, and all that good stuff.

i did the recipe exactly -- however i did not make my own dough. i think the wheat dough from whole foods is fabulous and saves you a freak load of time. just sayin'.

the final product. well done everyone! 
wednesday we had a little pumpkin carving -- baseball watching {the giants are in the world series, by the way} -- pizza eating -- and cookie making party. i have to say, last year i was a little more proud of myself. that owl?! can't win em every time.

once the giants game ended {victory, obv} we turned on some random halloween movies that were on tv -- idle hands and halloween IV. so fun getting into the halloween spirit. happy weekend, all!

** for the cookies -- i added 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg. makes them a little more fall-ish. bon appetit!

well, i started night time french classes. and i'm really excited about it. ever since studying abroad (almost 4 years ago??) i've really missed everything about france. please excuse the janky photo -- i wanted to capture the moment, but felt really awkward snappin pics. but you get the idea? the class is small and intimate and so cozy, just how i hoped it would be! and it's right smack dab in the middle of union square. i'll let everyone know when i am ready for my trip to le paris.

pumpkin pancakes + bacon are really the only way one should wake up on sunday morning. we were obsessed last year however this year we used a new recipe found <here> ... gah they're good. the rest of our day was spent wandering the city and running halloween costume errands. the sf air was cool and crisp and perfect. for lunch {yeah, i don't know how we were able to fit more food in our tummies} we were not let down by local fav sweet woodruff. always a great little meal here. 


as we walked to whole foods for sunday groceries {i know, more food?}... the cable car happened to pass by. and so we hopped on... duh.  i need to do this more often. it is so charming. seafood sunday dinner consisted of our favorite kale salad, mashed sweet potatoes, and hazelnut crusted halibut. it was very {verrry} delicious. 

and luckily, the russian hill market is back so we ended with frozen yogurt. bon appetit!

obviously my favorite day of the year. {well, at least top 10}. on saturday morning we packed the car and headed to half moon bay for pumpkins {halloween is coming soon folks}. first, we stopped for coffee at hookers and enjoyed a cute little breakfast at blue sky farms. this place is part nursery, part landscape design, and part cafe. and they do it all to perfection.


post pumpkins we went further south to pescadero. our time here was spent wandering the town and stocking up on fresh berries, local honey, and the-best-bread-known-to-man. not kidding. and we obviously couldn't leave without a trip to pie ranch. after our mid day piece a pie, we explored the ranch -- and may even be back one day to volunteer and attend the barn dance? who knows.

later that night we went to magnolia in the haight to celebrate jake's birthday. this place has such a fun atmosphere, great beer, amazing food, and just all around my kinda vibes. we'll definitely be back. what a day.

well hello monday. shall we reminisce on the weekend? ok. friday night was spent in china town-- and it was fun... and random. we went to chubby noodle for dinner {uh yum}... and later popped into a few bars in the area before making our way home. the rest of the night was spent prepping for halloween by watching the lost boys. perfect little friday.

sometimes taking that extra monday off is just the right thing to do. with acl being the entire weekend, we really wanted one more day to just enjoy austin and hang with the fam. the day was spent sleeping in, swimming, eating some of the best bbq in texas, enjoying beautiful austin views, taking a <much needed> nap, espresso on the patio, and dinner + a movie.
