clark's is really just the best. i love it so dang much.
it's very rare that when walking home from work {on a nice day} those two little blue seats you see below aren't filled with people laughing and drinking wine and eating oysters. i want to be those people!! so i took it as a sign, snagged the seats, and texted my friend hb. luckily she wanted to hang out. we had a lovely time enjoying the warm spring weather, which made me realize i need to do happy hour more often. and also try to get there before actual happy hour is over, because half off wine would be cool.
last weekend we went to tuscon for a friend's wedding – my first time to arizona! i loved exploring where some of my bestest besties went to school. some moments worth mentioning:
hotel congress for welcome drinks, biking, and more biking – penca for mezcal cocktails, time market for breakfast {twice}, borderlands for beerflights by the train tracks, tap + bottle, the glorious sunshine and a hilarious rainy bike ride home, exo roast co. for unique pick-me-ups, our lovely little rental home, and of course a beautiful wedding filled with lots of love and dancing and {one too many} drinks. cheers!
last sunday we had to pretend like it was saturday – there were two company sxsw parties to go to, and friends to continue to entertain {i mean, they took monday off. we couldn't just suggest seeing a movie.}
highlights include:
{free!!} street side ice cream sandwiches for breakfast, gospel waffle sunday at mcj, lunch at hillside farmacy, vintage souvenir shopping at sam hill, drinks and snacks at whip in, and finally container bar for our final party of the weekend. i was happy to put my head on the pillow that night.
the sun is awesome, but i love a good cozy day in the rain. last saturday was perfect for that reason. our day consisted of trying another great bbq spot – john muellers, wandering the east side, a coffee break from the rain, home for games and pizza, more bull riding {we have a problem}, dancing at a shot bar? and a few more drinks downtown before we realized that the nice warm dry apartment was a good place to be...
we have awesome friends – the day we moved to texas it seems like they were all booking tickets to come visit us. i think they're using us for a free place to stay, but whatever we like the company. last weekend we had a whole bunch of folks crashing at our place with sxsw in full swing. friday we kicked things off with a night on south congress at some of our favorites – perlas for dinner, hotel san jose for drinks in the trees, and live music + two stepping at the continental club.
reno + vegas
8:08 PM
sunday was annoying, but luckily turned out to be fun. – it consisted of a shuttle to reno, 2 hours in the reno airport, 2 hours in the vegas airport, 2 flights, and home by 12am. uhhm?? the second we saw how depressing the airport was in reno – we bailed to have a late lunch + drink in town and were shocked by how cool the places we found were
for the last 3 years i've been able to tightly hold on to that +1 slot for kp's annual work trip to northstar. each year is different and unique in it's own little way {last trips seen here and here}, and this year was nothing short of awesome. we had fresh snow, crazy digs, and 2 long fall-free days of skiing {ok i fell once}.
