when we cut down our own tree in peteluma 2 years ago i decided i wanted to make that a tradition for all christmas' moving forward. its just way more fun and special. this year we looked for the texas version and came across elgin christmas tree farm. they have hundreds of amazing options in all shapes and sizes, and it's only 30 minutes east of austin. we brought home our very own little baby tree and i couldn't love it more.

THANKSGIVING

thanksgiving was so pleasant this year (thank you, martha + jc)– we ran the turkey trot, cooked and cooked and cooked, ate a deliciously (and rather healthy) dinner, cheered on the longhorns (and were sad to watch them lose), decorated the house, and shared many bubbles with close friends. i cannot believe december is just around the corner. 

RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR

renegade in san francisco used to be one of my favorite places to browse hand-made items for gifts and unique one of a kind items. the fair fills up local event centers with local and non local artists, crafters, builders – you name it. this will be my first time attending the austin version, which i know will be equally as awesome. come check it out if you're in the area today and tomorrow, 11–6

during the year it's easy to get caught up in the flurry of life; get stressed about things; get jealous or envious or worry about things; have moments where you think your world is crumbling down. it's important to take time to remember how lucky we are to be alive and to remember all those weird little things that make our life special and great. i'm going to try and spend the day reminding myself of that. done being deep – happy turkey day!

MARFA, TEXAS

marfa was never on my radar when i was younger – i hadn't even heard of the place. it wasn't until a couple years ago that i started hearing buzz around the food, art, character, and el cosmic that inspired our recent trip. west texas is beautiful and charming and peaceful, and i think it's definitely worth the trek. my only regret is not adding big bend national park to our trip, next time! some recs:

explore // the art galleries to your interest, and make time for a star party – it is a very special experience, and if you get the right weather you'll see more stars than you ever have in your life.
