Was great to be back in Texas for the holiday. The week was full of doggies, maudies, turkey (+ turkey trotting), and relaxing. Martha made a fantastic dinner (might have been one of her best) and we had a very fun group to share the meal with.

11:43 AMFriday night we had dinner at Muka - perfect location for a rainy birthday night. After sliders, frites, and red wine -- we had a mellow night with cards and cocktails. Saturday started off with FarmTable and shopping, and was cozy at home with football and lunch (grilled cheese and potato soup) courtesy of Le Beau. That night we put on our best dress and went to Tonga Room for a hilarious night of drinks, dancing, and late night in China town. A productive Sunday followed, full of errands, ending with a calm seafood sunday dinner.
Happy Birthday KP!
9:23 AMLast night we had a great dinner with Kyle's mama Lorna -- in town for work -- and the rest of 1400 Washington, at Delfina in the Mission. A great way to kick off birthday weekend!

What a nice surprise -- JC was in the bay area for work and came out to SF to take us to dinner. We went to Anchor + Hope in SOMA in honor of Martha's birthday, and it was so delicious. The menu was full of flavorful seafood dishes and we had a bit of everything: salted-cod, seviche, monkfish, seabass, and more -- all paired with a bottle of Rose. And gingerbread/pumpkin cake for dessert (yum had to)... Thank you for sharing Try it Tuesday with us, JC!

This trip has been a long-time-coming, as it was booked back in July. Friday night we got in late and had dinner in Denver. Molly and Will picked a great place in Larimer Square that was right up our alley-- Osteria Marco. The pizza, meatball sliders, and red wine were the perfect dinner to accompany the cold weather and much needed catching-up. After dinner we went for drinks at a great little speak easy called Green Russell. It was fun to explore places we'd never been in Denver!
Saturday was spent in Boulder at a perfect little Airbnb -- we had brunch at Brasserie Ten Ten, followed by The Sink, K's, {the actual football game} West End Tavern, The Upstairs, Japango, the St. Julien... Wow, dare I go on...
Needless to say, Sunday was pretty chill. We walked around Pearl Street and took a drive up Baseline. Later, we went back to Denver and took Griz to Wash Park, followed by a trip to Whole Foods and a home cooked meal. Such a great weekend with many great memories !

Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!

Last night we had dinner at LOP and finally broke in our new dining table! I made one of my fav Williams Sonoma "Healthful Cooking" recipes from here, with a strawberry and goat cheese salad on the side-- it came out great. Its getting dark at about 5:30 pm in sf now, so I see many cozy fall nights on the radar...

This past weekend I went a little nuts at Nob Hill Hardware and made serious progress on the living room! I got our new shelves and mirrors hung up, along with carefully nailing the tv cords along the wall... quite the accomplishment, and now no more clutter.
Here is a link for some recent inspiration ... one day ...

Last night Erin and I went to the Marina to try the new texas-style bbq place -- Cedar Hill Kitchen + Smokehouse. Literally spot. on. We ordered brisket, ribs, coleslaw, and beans -- and felt just like we were back in Texas! I can see myself going back here many... many ... times.

To close out October we went to Lolo in the Mission on <actual> halloween night. There were tons of children out trick-or-treating which made for fantastic people watching. We loved the food and chill vibe at this restaurant --
