SANTA YNEZ, CA
Tuesday, September 30, 2014

this past weekend was spent celebrating two friends getting hitched in santa ynez wine country {just outside of santa barbara} some highlights leading up to the wedding include:
brunch at the boathouse, beers at cold spring tavern, our amazing house for the bridal party, wine tasting in los olivos, picking apples and feeding them to the horses + goats, evening sparklers alongside our foodtruck, and finally getting in some quality time with friends we haven't seen in quite a while!
TACOS – 3 WAYS
Monday, September 29, 2014
bon appetit usually supplies my dinner recipes, and i've particularly loved a lot of their tacos lately. they're so easy {and cheap} and sometimes i really just don't want to cook dinner. all of these are very fancy tasting, and don't require too much effort – and the first one is perfect for fall. enjoy!

green tacos with sweet potato (vegan! if you go cheese-less)
** we added black beans and corn salsa

steak taco with cilantro radish salsa

homemade fresh chorizo
** we added guac, cabbage, and cheese to these

i'm headed to this beautiful place in santa ynez this weekend to celebrate some {more} friends getting married;– happy weekend!
FRIDAY INSPIRATION {UMAMI MART}

** all images via spotted sf
right before we moved to austin we took a trip to oakland and visited umami mart, an amazing barware store that imports everything from japan. it's one of those places that makes you want to replace everything in your kitchen asap. {they now have a shop in SF's nova neighborhood, too!}
because we were moving, and we knew we "needed" a fancy bar area to entertain folks in our new home, it was the obvious choice to invest in some of their awesome stuff via their website when we got to texas. i'm so happy we did.
JAZZ BRUNCH
Thursday, September 25, 2014

one of my most favorite places to grab a drink (or 3) in austin is hotel san jose {owned by the same gal that created this awesome spot}. the patio is always amazing day or night – rain or shine / the champassion {champagne + passion fruit juice} goes down almost too easily, and they often have live music. last weekend we attended their jazz brunch and i could have sat there for hours ...
WISHLIST | AIRBNB
Tuesday, September 23, 2014
airbnb has made some of my vacations in the past infinitely better – there's just something about staying in a real home vs. a hotel room that really helps immerse yourself. in my day-dream time i often fantasize about where i'd like to go next. here are just a few of the spots on my airbnb wishlist –

writer's studio in paris, france

on the water in amsterdam

escape to iceland

secluded treehouse in atlanta, ga

casa colina in puerto rico
happy hump day!
TRY IT TUESDAY
Monday, September 22, 2014

jacoby's restaurant & mercantile recently opened over on east cesar chavez {an area that's in the midst of blowing up}. everything about it was extremely pleasant – the cocktails were unique, the food was tasty, and the patio was killer overlooking rolling hills, cliffs, and the back end of the colorado river. we sat cozied up watching the storm roll in as we shared dish after dish.
afterwards we browsed the mercantile which sells a mix of artisan foods, vintage + modern gems, and unique one of a kind items. i happily went home with a pine tree smelling candle that i now burn nightly.
i'll be back here for sure.
i'll be back here for sure.

THE REINHARDTs
Sunday, September 21, 2014
they're married! after an extremely fun year celebrating the engagement of these too – they're officially the reinhardts. and they couldn't look happier. the wedding took place @ snake river ranch and was magical. everything about the evening – the gorgeous yet cozy decor, the mountain backdrop, the charming little details, the music, the food, the drinks. everyone was so relaxed and cheerful, and i really didn't want the night to end. stay tuned for a video that captures so much more of the wedding than photos will ever do ...
WEDDING EVE
Saturday, September 20, 2014
the day before c + e tied the knot was spent paddle boarding + picnicking at string lake, drinking beers at one of the best roof tops maybe ever – dornans, and a celebrating with a perfect rehearsal dinner @ Q's roadhouse.
WELCOME TO JACKSON HOLE
Thursday, September 18, 2014
we made it!
after driving through teton national park we were warmly greeted at our dear friend's home, bear camp, a special place we created countless memories at during college. it was so wonderful to be back. the intimate evening was perfect; delicious food {a food truck all to ourselves!}, festive drinks, s'mores, horseshoes, and most importantly – the best company. thank you so much to a + s for hosting us.
TRAVEL | YELLOWSTONE
Monday, September 15, 2014

on our last day in yellowstone we really had to pack sh*t in –
who knows when we'll be back to this glorious place.
some highlights / tips if you're in the area include:
– skip old faithful {if you're short on time} and do the short grand prismatic springs hike. you'll get a view that none of the other tourists are getting, and you'll feel the burn, too.
– explore on foot – many people you'll see are driving around, getting out of the car, snapping pics, and continuing on their way, but there is a lot tucked back in those woods.
TRAVEL | "GLAMPING"
Sunday, September 14, 2014

it's monday and i have major monday blues.
i want to relive this peaceful moment over and over again.
our final stop before jackson hole was yellowstone, where we "glamped" at yellowstone under canvas; a place we'd had on our radar for over a year. it was even more magical than i imagined. so simple and perfect, with everything you would need and more {including a cozy restaurant on site full of taxidermy, good food, and festive drinks like huckleberry mules}. even more special – the bride-and-groom-to-be joined us which made for such a memorable few days full of adventures.

happy friday!
ROAD.TRIP
Wednesday, September 10, 2014
after our much too short time in glacier national park we headed south to yellowstone and made some fun stops along the way:
big fork, mt >> missoula, mt >> montana whiskey >> bozeman, mt >> {here, we fly fished and bridge jumped} fly fishing is my new favorite activity >> and finally, west yellowstone, mt
it was a lot of car time, but so very worth it to see so much of montana!
TRAVEL | GLACIER.NATIONAL.PARK
Monday, September 08, 2014

this past week was spent national-park-hopping / road tripping across montana and wyoming and i want to relive it already. we started in glacier, and though it got off to a rocky start {missed connections; lost baggage; extra 3 hour drives; etc} it was all worth it when we finally arrived.
some highlights / must dos if you're ever in the area include:
stay @:
glacier park lodge, many glacier hotel, or the islander inn – these are all so cozy and perfect in their own little way, and are near some of the best hiking + adventures.
if you'd prefer to camp {glamp} stay @
glacier under canvas – we visited their yellowstone location and it was a dream.
