as promised, below is a little video i made of our trip.
last time i went to workshop i learned how to make chocolates –– this time, pickling. a skill we should all probably have? with pickled veggies being so hot right now, i felt it was absolutely crucial that i keep up with the trends. some people look it up online, but i prefer to drink wine with my gal palz and learn in a group setting. and i'm now a glorified expert. we learned both how to pickle and how to can {aka it will last up to 1 year! hello pickles in 2014...}, and went home with two jars of cucumbers and carrots. my gah i can't wait to try them.

2:17 PMsunday was gloomy Рand i was not mad about it. i spent my day cleaning, running in the rain {it was so dramatic}, having lunch and ros̩ at side kick , and ending the night at candlelit yoga. so freakin' zen.
saturday started with a small ride over to yttp, followed by a little brunch with myself {it was romantic}, and then a cruise along the water. pretty soon i'll be biking like a mad woman.
^^ i really love the green path on market street for bikers, and i know you all wanted to see a little map of my ride. visuals are key.
later that evening i met up with AP to try the new hottie spot coqueta. when we heard the walls were made of glass and that they had mega fancy cocktails {flowers floating in your gin + tonic? heelloo summatiiime!}, we were sold. the inside is teeny tiny, and perfect because the windows protect your from you from the sf-death-winds, but you still enjoy sitting on the water.

^^ after some snacks we popped into hardwater for my new fav cocktail... we were then somehow at netties crab shack?, and ended our night on the patio at 620 jones.

we've hit a milestone with the ol' bike: my first road ride ! on sunday i took that thing outside of the city, on the road {obv}, for 12 miles {wimpy, but we're thinking baby steps}... and nothing traumatic happened! i've been wanting to try this loop for a while now, because... well... it ends at an awesome brewery so that is neat.
prior to our adventure we had some breakfast and coffee {+ tea} paired with some wandering around petaluma. it was a very pleasant little morning. later we were on the road, and minus the flat tire we had a fab time biking in farm country amongst the cows and the trees.

multitasking has always been my strong suit.
^^ my reward! i got hammered. just kidding this only equals maybe a beer and a half.

a few weeks back we randomly saw a poster for huichica festival while we were grabbing lunch. when we noticed it was hosted at a winery, by some of our fav restaurants, with some awesome bands {well i hadn't heard of most of them at the time, buuutt thank you spotify playlist!} we thought, why the hell not. *what's up, staycation?*
we started the day by checking into our random {and kinda janky yet cute} little sonoma hotel {it had a pool, so...} and relaxed for a bit. the festival was much smaller than we anticipated – which was a pleasant surprise. no lines, no crowded panic attacks {i'm turning into an old woman}, extremely clean bathrooms, free wine tasting, i mean...... were we in heaven?
throughout the day we had the most delicious bites from bunk sandwiches, salumeria, namu gaji {chicken skewers!}, skylite snow balls, and *two bottles* of gundlach bundschu ros̩ {insert need for aforementioned janky hotel Рwho could drive home after this freak show?}...

after a long day spent in the sun, we finished our night in sonoma at the girl and the fig. this spot was beyond awesome – we sat outside under the heat lamps and next to the fire place enjoying mussels, cheese, and steak tar tar. i know it sounds like all we did was eat and drink all day, but... we also fell in love with some amazing new tunes. a perfect sonoma staycation. cheers!
