months ago we came across this airstream and were so sad when it was booked months out. we ended up making a reservation 8 months in advance, and i can't believe it has come and gone! we had such a lovely time relaxing, cooking (and also dining @ our favorite spot the leaning pear), hot tubbing, swimming in the *empty* blue hole (last time it was packed), playing scrabble,  showering outside, and enjoying the peaceful property around us. if you live in the austin area – i would highly recommend a night or two here!

last week mcj was nice enough to give us the day off as long as we spent it golfing amongst our co-workers (they do such fun things for us. thank you mcj!) our christmas-themed-team earned our "most team spirit" trophy by having a little too much fun carting around, blasting music, visiting other groups, making up reasons to shot-gun beers, and kind of golfing. best work event ever, best team ever.

did you know austin has a drive-in move theater? i've never been to one (ever) so i was very pleased to find this little gem. i couldn't have loved our experience more – we cozied up to ghostbusters and a bottle of wine on the hood of our car, plus a few treats from their food truck which is fully equipped with typical movie snacks. and you're free to BYO-anything. i already can't wait to get back for their christmas movie series.

last weekend we were lucky enough to score tickets to attend pop austin with some great friends of ours *thank you friends*. the fair market venue is awesome, and i loved seeing how different it was from this event back in june. we had too much fun admiring the unique pieces, sipping down straight titos, people watching, and later ending our night @ garage.

this new orleans inspired diner opened semi-recently over on east cesar chavez (right down the street from jacoby's). the space is awesome – a huge outdoor patio, and a cozy diner inside. i enjoyed my drink and dinner here, and look forward to coming back for brunch. bon appetit.

we got lucky this year @ acl {it rained and was gross and muddy} but with the rain came cooler temps. and it is so much more pleasant being amongst 80 thousand peeps when you're not sweaty. 

some highlights from this year's festival include: bejamin booker, the craft beer tent, mid-day breaks at shady grove, east side king + chilantro @ austin eats, wine served in water bottles, EMINIMEN DANCE PARTY, and some good quality time with my friends.

liz lambert is really just a badass. the spaces she has created here in texas are truly one of a kind, and i find myself wanting to pick her brain more and more. after our amazing experience at hotel havana, and our countless evenings spent @ hotel san jose we were inspired to visit el cosmico in marfa. this trip won't happen until november– but i already can't wait!

hillside farmacy is a restaurant + specialty grocery store located in an old drugstore building beautifully restored using original pharmacy cabinetry {also seen on this post}. located deep on the east side, it is one of my favorite places for a long leisurely lunch/happy hour {don't ever expect for your experience here to be quick}. some of my favorites on the menu include the fried egg sandwich and the fountain sodas "with booze". and if there is a long wait for a table – wander over to quickie pickie, take heart or olive vintage down the street. bon appetit!

my monday night was spent watching gone girl with  my mom and sis – austin knows about movie theaters {alamo draft house, ipic...}, and my hands down favorite is violet crown on 2nd street. this little spot is locally owned with only four screens devoted to quality independent, documentary, international, and studio films. the food + wine + cocktail selection is amazing, and the theater is always just cozy and perfect. and the tickets only run you about $2 more than the AMC's of the world! happy wednesday

how cool is this place? ever since my obsession with eternal sunshine of the spotless mind – i've wanted to go to montauk. i don't know much about the little beach town other than it's small, cozy, and often gets rather cold in the winter time. i recently learned about the surf lodge by way of kp's surfer brain and am now even more excited to visit one day.
