thanks to travel zoo and blue sky boat club we were finally able to hit up lake austin after much anticipation – i can't even remember the last time i was out there {highschool?}. we started the morning with my favorites, howdy donuts, and took a cruise to the other side of the lake. the rest of our boat day included almost breaking our necks tubing, swimming in the warm water, and realizing we need to get out on the lake more often ...

last weekend we popped into the event i mentioned on friday – i loved browsing and learning about loads of cool american-made brands. afterwards we figured it was probably best to hang on the east side for the rest of the night: we watched the world cup at bar 96, had an amazingly lo{oooo}ng dinner at one of my favorites; justines, and finished the evening with drinks on the warm back patio of weather up.

living in clarksville has been so perfect for the last 7 months (can't believe we've lived here that long already) it reminds me so much of san francisco. the little back streets, the cozy local spots to grab drinks / brunch / dinner / fancy cheese plates, the huge green trees – it's everything i want in a neighborhood, and i truly didn't know austin had this. 

last weekend we enjoyed two of my favorites that are joyfully walking distance from home – josephine house and clarks.  the more i have days like these, the more austin starts to feel like home again.

in the spirit of bringing TiT back, why not kick things off with one of the best sushi restaurants ... ever? i've actually been here before, it's just been far too long so i think it still counts. this spot is one where you need to come to terms with the fact that you'll have to wait for a table and spend a lot of money, but trust me it's damn worth it. i also recommend you put down the overwhelming menu and let the chef pick what's for dinner – they'll bring you the best / freshest / yummiest, and trying to navigate that menu is pretty much impossible. bon appetit!

summer is here! which means we're seeking water at all times. saturday was spent kicking off our first greenbelt day of the season, which was well timed with the recent rain storm. this spot rivals barton springs pool for me because it is less crowded and there are little private nooks to set up your own camp. we had so much fun cooling off, drinking wine, and playing with my dear friend amy's new pup ellie.

this weekend stag will be hosting northern grade here in austin at the fair market venue on east 5th street. this event is a traveling men's market that features tons of awesome national and local brands paired up with music and booze to keep everyone happy. judging by the diverse product assortments (apparel, footwear, accessories, gear, art, motorcycles, home goods, etc .... ) i think it will be fun for ladies, too. just in time for father's day.

i don't think there is a cozier place than the louis + schaumburg homes in columbus – as you'll see from below, our time here was spent: playing with bridger and puppies, eating tasty treats {the goodie shop, and jeni's}, snuggling up to a rainy day with katzinger's and pass the pigs, and continuing our much needed catch up sessions.

this past weekend was spent in ohio *columbus + cincinnati* visiting two of my besties for some much needed catching up and celebrations {one has a little babe on the way, and the other a husband on the way}. we had a lot of ground to cover in my 48 hour stay, starting with a drive to cincy. our time here was short but so dang sweet. we had the most perfect afternoon catching up and relaxing on the ollie's gorgeous back patio, followed by a girls night out with sparkling beverages and fried chicken.

a couple years ago we popped into heath ceramics for a cup of blue bottle and some browsing, hoping to come home tons of amazing ceramic goodies. then we realized that these high quality beauties don't come cheap – and for good reason. heath is one of the few remaining mid century american potteries and have been around since 1948, only recently opening up their shop/showroom in san francisco in 2012. each piece is hand crafted in their factory in Sausalito. one day i hope to fill my home with you, heath!

last night was the start of blues on the green, a free summer concert series here in austin. there were a lot of people and it really felt more like a park party than a concert {which is not a bad thing}. prior to meeting up with friends {and new puppy friends} we had a big work dinner @ shady grove. summer + warm nights do not exist in sf, and we're really enjoying them a lot.

i can't believe our trip to canada has already come and gone – it was everything i hoped it would be. montreal was completely different than i pictured, though {i didn't realize it was such a big city}. we had perfect weather luck which played a huge role in our experience – the sun was out, the temp was chilly-ish but also warm at times, and we never felt a drop despite the forecasted rain. some highlights from the trip include:
